2017 STRONG BREW Host Committee
What do we need?
The Domestic Violence Legal Empowerment and Appeals Project (DV LEAP) is planning our second annual STRONG BREW event and is looking to bring together a group of people to serve as our Host Committee. As part of the Host Committee, your primary responsibility is to raise awareness about domestic violence and the work of DV LEAP by selling tickets to our annual fundraising event.
Why do we need a Host Committee?
Let’s face it, putting together a fundraising event is hard work! The Host Committee is particularly important because they are a group of people (friends) committed to making sure that we have large audience of supporters with us to have a great time and raise necessary funds for DV LEAP’s work.
What is expected of someone on the Host Committee?
A member of the Host Committee is expected to sell a minimum of 5 tickets to the 2017 STRONG BREW event. These tickets can be sold to anyone: friends, neighbors, colleagues, vendors, clients, and associates. Each member is expected to tap into their own networks and rolodexes to ensure that DV LEAP has a successful event.
What’s our overall goal for the 2017 Host Committee?
Tickets will be sold at $150 apiece. We are looking to have the Host Committee sell 100 tickets, bringing in an additional $15,000 to support the domestic violence services of DV LEAP!
How should you sell these tickets?
Don’t worry, we will be providing you with all of the tools necessary to make selling event tickets as easy as possible! We will provide each member of the committee with event invitations, sample scripts, collateral materials, links for online purchasing, and everything you need to help raise money. We will hold meetings (either as a group or individually) to talk strategy, check progress, and offer advice for selling tickets. Your role as a member of the Host Committee is very crucial to Strong Brew’s success in 2017 and we will be with you every step of the way!
